Innovating for a fitter, healthier and happier future for Scotland’s young people.
In association with Andy Murray and the Digital Health & Care Institute, the #DigiInventorsChallenge is sponsored by Sopra Steria and Digital World is proud to be an official partner in the challenge.
Got a fun, smart idea to help Scotland's young people keep active, eat well, and stay healthy now, and in years to come?
Well, Andy Murray and The Digital Health & Care Institute can turn your idea into a reality, thanks to the #DigiInventorsChallenge!
We want you to develop an idea that will help young people participate in the active management of their health, fitness and wellbeing, using digital technology.
We’ve all heard of apps that analyse diet and mood, watches that monitor heart rates and games that promote exercise.
You need to be part of a youth organisation, college or school from Scotland and be in teams of four to six.
At the time of entry you must be 14-17 years old.
There must be at least one adult mentor.
Once you have your team and adult mentor sorted out, you must register your team by 3rd April 2017 by completing the online registration form.
Once you have registered your team, you must work together to develop your idea and it must be submitted by the 5th May 2017.
In the application, tell us about your idea in no more than 2000 words.
More specifically, we want to know:
• What is it and how does it work?
• What health and care problem does your idea solve? And why is this important?
• How does your idea apply digital technology?
• Could your idea be made available to all young people in Scotland? If so, how?
• Why do you think your idea should win?
• What do you think will make people want to use your idea? And what benefits will it bring?
• What do you think your idea needs to make it a reality?
You will also be required to prepare and upload one of the following, which will describe your idea and how it works:
• A PowerPoint presentation
• An illustration
• A video
The #DigiInventorsChallenge offers an incredible prize package!
Each member of all shortlisted teams will receive an incredible Apple iWatch and the winning team will also receive Apple iPads and £2,000 for their school, college or club.
