For Teachers

*ORDINARILY THE FREE RESOURCES  LISTED BELOW ARE TARGETED AT TEACHERS AND PUPILS IN SCOTLAND, BUT BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC THEY ARE NOW OPEN TO ALL AND REMAIN FREE FOR ALL*

We've created this toolkit to help teachers introduce tech related careers into the classroom. Working with experts, we've created a series of fun and engaging lessons that are easy to deliver and are designed to fit a standard period.

From how to rob a bank through to defending a hospital, and cracking passwords to tracking rhinos (and many more), all our lessons can be found here. So far more than 130,000 pupils and teachers have used them, so they are definitely tried, tested and proven to work.

(These lessons have been designed in such a way that they support the teaching and delivery of learning outcomes from the relevant curricula and qualifications listed below)

Investigate Broughty Ferries using Open Source Intelligence

Computer Science Education Week.

Take part in this interactive cyber security activity with your class. You'll investigate suspicious activity at a ferry company and see if you can uncover a conspiracy to import counterfeit trainers.

As part of Computer Science Education Week, learners will get hands on and try their hand at Open Source Intelligence gathering (OSINT), an important cyber security reconnaissance technique.

OSINT uses legal and cutting edge methods to discover publicly available information about a subject. You'll use standard OSINT methods to discover all that we can about the inner workings of Broughty Ferries and hopefully be able to confirm or deny their involvement in illegal activity.
