What is a User Experience Designer

User Experience (or UX) Designers are responsible for creating, testing and updating digital products to improve customer satisfaction.

You could be using your design skills to create eye-catching and easy-to-use products or collecting customer recommendations to deliver even more enjoyable and valuable services.

  • Testing products from the perspective of the customer to better understand their experiences.

Getting in and Qualifications

User experience is a wide-ranging discipline and there is a range of opportunities available to people looking to pursue UX design as a career.

Many people study a HNC/HND or degree in Design, Business Management or similar.

You may also choose to undertake an apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media or Software Development. This means you will gain work experience while also working towards a qualification.

A portfolio of previous creative work can be very useful to demonstrate practical experience.
