What is Digital Skills Pipeline?
Digital Skills Pipeline will offer accredited learning or vendor certification recognised by industry in short , or intensive, or immersive learning or modular courses. In digital technology skills where there is an identified skills gap.
To ensure that no one is left behind, and that we develop a buoyant and diverse talent pipeline for employers, it is important that we reach all parts of society and recognise that individuals will join this reskilling journey at different points and with different transferable skills.
Digital Skills Pipeline has segmented learners into the 3 broad categories which are summarised below, we think takes account of a learner’s previous digital technology skills and experiences and recognises that different learners require different reskilling interventions.
For general enquiries, please contact DigitalSkillsPipeline@sds.co.uk To apply, please contact training providers directly. Details of courses and providers are listed below.
Support – Excluded Talent
We would expect learners in this group to already have basic digital technology skills and able to confidently use technology as part of their life and/or work.
Learners in this group will probably not be thinking about a career in digital technology and will likely have limited awareness of the technology job roles and opportunities that exist.
The aim of this segment is to provide learners with careers experiences and taster programmes which provide an insight into the range of digital technology jobs available, and their skills requirements.
Provision may focus on one tech discipline such as cyber or data, or be more general programmes which introduce learners to a range of digital technology skills and careers.
As part of this segment we expect learners to have the opportunity to develop some digital technology skills to help them assess their ability and interest in pursuing the next steps of a technology career. The expected progression for learners in this group would be onto further learning, including apprenticeships.
